Can't remember when that next lesson is starting? Want to book that aircraft while you're thinking of it? Are you thinking that it might have been a good idea to double-check the weather - not to mention the NOTAMs - before heading out?

Manage your aircraft and instructor bookings, track your flight times, check weather and NOTAMs, and access electronic aircraft checklists, all from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Weather, NOTAMs, Frequencies

There are a number of good aviation weather applications available for the iPhone or iPod Touch: with MobileSheets, the weather is incorporated into all of the other functions, and station NOTAMs are readily available as well.

Need to know the frequency? That information was downloaded to your iPhone or iPod Touch when you set up the flight.

Oh, and that's the destination METAR at the top, in case you wanted to know your arrival runway - live, if you've got access to the Internet (if not, it's the latest available).

(Canadian Weather and NOTAMs are provided through the NavCanada Aviation Weather web site (AWWS). American weather is provided through the NOAA Aviation Digital Data Service (ADDS), with the NOTAM information provided through the FAA's PilotWeb service.)

Checklists

The On-Line Reservation System now allows for the management and downloading of both Standard and Emergency/Abnormal aircraft checklists.

With MobileSheets, you get full access to those same checklists from your iPhone or iPod Touch - just select your aircraft, and tap on the checklist.

And In Case of Emergency...

You don't get to pick when an abnormal situation arises, but you can get the required checklist as fast as you need it: simply tap on the 'Emergency' button, and the Abnormal Checklists will be presented - regardless of which phase of flight you happen to be in at the time.

Electronic Hobbs Board

Recording your air and flight times is now as simple as tapping a button, and the actual times are calculated on the fly for you (no more of the in-cockpit math to try to convert watch times to decimal times).

If your Club or FBO uses the Daily Flight Sheets component of the On-Line Reservation System, MobileSheets will upload your times to the daily flight sheet right from the cockpit.

Your school doesn't use the Daily Flight Sheets components? Then MobileSheets will e-mail those flight times directly to you!

That Reminds Me...

MobileSheets will help you by automatically setting reminders for Tank Switches (if you're flying an aircraft that requires manual tank switches), and a confirmation that you've closed your flight plan (if you're on a cross-country trip).
